Population and dissenters: There are, I beleive, in this Parish near four Hundred Families, of which about thirty, or between that & forty are of the Anabaptist-Perswasion. two or three Families of Quakers, and some few Presbyterians, the Remains of a Meeting of that Perswasion, which for many Years has been declining here, and has for some Years last past been altogether dropt. the Meeting of the Anabaptists is under a Lisence; and so (I am informed) is a House or Two of the Quakers.
Public or charity schools: Here is a charity or publick School; whose endowment is between ten or twelve Pounds a year: Here are sixteen Poor Children instructed, or according to the Request of the Feoffees more than that number. The children placed in this School, are duly instructed in the Principles of the {Church of England} Christian religion, according to the <Doctrine of> Church of England & brought duly to the church, as the Canon requires.
Alms-house, hospital or charitable endowment: Here is a charitable Donation of four Pounds a Year for the celebration of the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper three several Times in the year, which money is to be laid out in purchasing Bread & wine for that occasion, and the Residue to be distributed among the poor Communicants; Here is another of ten Shillings a Year, an High or Quit Rent, received & accounted for by the Churchwardens at Easter. Nor is there any mismanagement in either of These.
Frequency of divine service: Divine Service is performed twice every Sunday, with a Sermon both Parts of the Day; on Wednesdays & Frydays during the Season of Lent, and on the Days previous and Subsequent to the great Festivals of the Church.
Frequency of communion: The sacrament of the Lord's Supper is administer'd seven Times every Year.
Number of communicants: The Number of Communicants (as well as I can judge) etc in this Parish, near two Hundred, Generally at each time of Administration about an hundred receive: Last Easter, I beleive about an Hundred and Fifty received, including Those that received the Sunday after Easter-Day, on which Day it is Constantly administerd & chiefly design'd for the Conveniency of servants & such as may be so well able to attend with their masters & mistresses on the foregoing Sunday.
Catechising of children: The Children of this Parish are Catechis'd during the Sumer Season. They are instructed for the most Part at the publick school as well as at Home, and so are the Servants, thro' the means of the Charitable Endowment of the publick School – and They are call'd upon to give satisfaction publickly in the Church, that they have been so instructed.
